10 Year Anniversary and Gross Toads

James and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary a couple of weeks ago! 10 years has flown by! I am posting this picture of the flowers he got for me just to prove that he does not always pick up flowers from the trash at the grocery store. I told him these were the best flowers he could get for me - they were beautiful!
Apparantly Sydney and Raleigh lost their fear of worms and toads over the winter. Sydney found a toad and was quick to pick it up. They tried to make a house for it but Mr. Toad didn't like the house so back into the grass the toad went after a photo session and lots of hugs. Raleigh is learning about animals in school so she wanted a picture to show her teacher. I still have not printed it out for her even though she asked 14 times.

Thanks girls for showing me the toad but I prefer to stay about 10 feet away from it - worms too - stay away...yuck.

Greyson's Eye Surgery

Greyson did great this morning for his tear duct surgery. I was expecting a lot worse because of the stories I have heard. He even woke up pretty well - I was glad to have his pacifier and blanket - it quieted him right down. Then I gave him food...he wolfed down a breakfast bar and his sippy cup of milk - I tried to take it away one time to give him a break and he grabbed onto it so tight I could not pry it out of his hands. He did not love the IV in his arm or the thingy on his big toe but if his blanket was covering those 2 things, he was fine. I am so glad this surgery was so minor - it makes it a lot easier. Greyson seems to be doing well now too - a little bloody nose but that is it. I am looking forward to having the green eye gunk GONE!

Photo Dump

Here is a Kuipers Family Photo Dump - we have had a lot going on and have taken a few random pictures here and there... Raleigh lost her 2 front teeth a few weeks ago - she looks so different. We can't see the adult teeth in there yet - I am sure it will change her look when they grow in. Sydney started to play soccer this spring. She likes to play - very much like Raleigh - not too aggressive but has a fun time. She scored a goal in the first game - it was in the wrong goal (but they don't keep track at this age, right??) We didn't tell her that part of it either - her whole team is a little confused - I guess they have to start somewhere.

Greyson just likes to get into the Fruit Loops - Every day the same thing - he loves them (probably because Raleigh eats them - he loves her). I am too lazy to put locks on the cupboard doors - I guess a little sugar won't kill him).

We celebrated Baby Hudson's birthday on May 2nd - He would have been 2 - time goes by FAST!

Sydney made sure I got 2 pictures of her - one with her eyes open and one with them shut - this is the one with her eyes open...or is it shut...or open...

Thank you Becky

Thank you Becky for Sydney's new Left-hander Glove - she refuses to take it off when we play - even when she bats! She's not that great at catching with it yet - but she looks cool:)
The girls love playing wiffle ball - we finally found the bat - it was hidden in the garage somewhere. We can stop using Greyson's little wood bat. LaBarge's - we are ready for a wiffle ball game this summer!

Greyson likes the outfield - he covers his position well -never gets into anyone's way, but has not made any outs yet...most importantly, he leaves his Tigers hat on!

Oh, here is proof that Sydney will not take her glove off (now that I think about it - it is probably because she does not want Raleigh to use it...now that make sense!)

My Michigan Potato

Not a whole lot going on at the Kuipers' house so I am just posting a few random pictures...
The other day Greyson found a new favorite thing to do...walk around the kitchen dragging a bag of potatoes...he thought he was so funny...and he was...
And then yesterday, I realized that Greyson was way too quiet - I went looking for him and he had found a blue candy robins egg and had sucked all the blue right off it. I took it out of his mouth and he was MAD! - I washed up his blue hands and his blue face. Today I found a weird blue mark on the carpet and I blamed Sydney for it - she blamed it on Greyson - I was mad at her for blaming someone else until I realized she was right - it was Greyson's fault!

Cabana de Troncos

Raleigh had to build a "shelter" for a school project. She picked a Log Cabin - Cabana de Troncos. (I am not sure if I spelled that right, and Raleigh is sleeping or I would ask her). We worked on it together - Sydney and daddy even got to help. Raleigh had to write a report about her shelter - who would live there, where her shelter was and why it was a good place for her type of shelter, what it would be made out of, etc. She wrote the whole report in Spanish. We had to call a friend of mine to help with some Spanish words but 95% of it was from Raleigh's own brain! I did look over it to make sure sentences started with capital letters and ended in punctuation but that was about all I could do to help. I hope she was really writing stuff about the Log Cabin and not something else - I guess I will never know for sure:)
She did a great job - and, she turned her project in right before Spring Break so we didn't have to worry about it all week - it is due tomorrow. I have a feeling this is going to be the first of many, many projects to come!

Easter Crazy

We enjoyed a great Easter Sunday...just us this year...great weather (so sunny that Raleigh had her "sun in the eye so take a bad picture" look on her face) and even a family bike ride in the evening.

Raleigh woke up the earliest as usual and I made her stay upstairs until Sydney woke up. Once Sydney got up, the girls came downstairs to find their baskets. For some reason, Littlest Pet Shop was their favorite.

By the time I got Greyson up, he was jumping up and down in his crib, like he knew something fun was going on. The girls found his basket for him and he had a great time tearing into it.

James and I made Easter lunch and we ate it - just the 5 of us! I can't remember the last time that has happened on Easter. The girls had colored eggs with the Roberts cousins on Saturday so we had egg salad for dinner later which James wouldn't eat because the dye had turned some of the eggs blue - luckily Daryn showed up to eat our blue egg salad! We went on a bike ride in the evening down to a playgound - Sydney has gotten a lot stronger on the tag-a-long this year. She is a much better help for me on the hills. I threw out my back somehow right before the bike ride - so that was interesting. Riding was fine - so is sitting...but I still cannot stand up straight. I feel like an 80 year old walking. So much for the spring cleaning I was going to do today:)
And of course, we enjoyed Easter because of what Jesus has done for us. Raleigh read the Easter story in the kids bible after lunch and we talked about how thankful we are for what Jesus did for us and for our little boys who have already gotten to take advantage of what Jesus did for them. Another Easter in Heaven - had to be great!
